I love the moons. My first PRS was a older Singlecut SE with moons and I loved it. Why do you think they chose regular dots over moons? Moons on a Vela would probably be cooler than birds.
I am digging these changes. One thing that always bugs me on a PRS is plain-arse dots. Give me moons, or birds. Not white plastic dots that belong on a guitar with an F company on the headstock.
I wish PRS would do white outline birds, that would be cool. the black outline birds on the CE24...
Hey there - I scored a rare covered 59/09 on Reverb a while back and want to put this into my Korina McCarty. I opened her up and it appears the stock pickups are single wire with a braid around it. How does one go about swapping the bridge pup for one with 4 wires? Would I need to upgrade to...
Is Pattern Regular thick enough for you? I saw a fair number of Wood Library runs the year or two before they went all Pattern Thin. I remember because I love the thin and was disappointed seeing such a beauty of a guitar and that one spec not hitting for me.
Here is one such example. I...
Thanks dude! It's funny I am a secret and fellow Custom 24 stoptail fanatic and I always loved that build you did! I do have a Tim Mahoney SE but the more the merrier! I just don't understand what PRS's hang-up is!
Anyone know what dealer was able to get a Custom 24 Stoptail WL run? I have now seen 2 from this run come up for sale but they didn't say what dealer (just that a dealer had ordered this run, I am guessing of 10). The reason being is it is quite interesting since I asked Brian's and Ish if...
The same thing is happening with the Tim Mahoney SE, although there seems to be way less of those. For years they were $4-500 used (perhaps the baby blue color is not for everyone) but then people realized they were pretty sweet and also rare and they go over over $1k now. I think the same...
This might be a hot take, but I absolutely hate the white plastic signature on the Wood library guitars. Nothing worse when my eyes are pouring over all the details, fine woods, and materials on a $6,000 guitar and I see that white plastic on the headstock instead of abalone or the metal...
I do see a lot of wood library custom 24's with Swamp ash - seems to be the "hot setup" the past few years. Not sure why - is it cool or trendy or tone is superior? It looks cool most of the time, although aesthetically I sometimes prefer the darker back color of natural mahogany backs, and...
yea these are super hard to come by and the prices are getting HIGH. I was lucky to find one used on Guitar Center's website of all places for $300!!! When I saw it I lost my dang mind - only had Gotoh locking tuners but stock otherwise. I was thinking of upgrading to US HFS/VB at some point...
Nice thoughts everyone. Thought that would be a fun discussion.
I do lament just the white dots. I am not a fan of white plastic on a PRS (dots, white birds on CE) but that is just me - why not the moon inlays instead? That would be what I would change. I was just curious more than anything...
Has there ever been a Vela with the typical Core violin carve? I feel like the Private Stocks I have seen still have the S2 carve - I have no problem with that but as a secret Vela fan I always wondered how this would look. Would it be unreal amazing, or maybe not? Would PRS do this if you...
this seems like a cool project. I had an SE Singlecut that was inexpensive enough to try something like this. I ended up selling it because I only like the thin neck profiles.
How cool is this rare bird I found?

Read the description - a limited run Dave's Guitars. Never seen a Cu24 with this type of bridge, and the purple was supposedly a mistake too. Wish a...
