I did it. Just bought used at a price where I knew I could flip it without a loss if I didn't like it.
So far no regrets - love it. I do battle with how effortless playing my CE seems with the lower frets comparatively, but then I go back to the DGT and fall in love all over again.
Did I tell you about the time boogie texted me a picture of a KL33 in a store when he was on vacation and he didn't buy it?!
Not used they don't.
No, you didn't. My reaction would have been
I love my DGT Solana burst! I have been playing 6100's for some time and was so happy to find a PRS that is using them. Bought mine used for a great price...less than a new CE (which i also have and really like). Found this recently on Reverb....quite a bit more but would be a great compliment: https://reverb.com/item/56665-paul-reed-smith-ted-mccarty-sc-wood-library-2010-solana-burst
My first core PRS was a DGT. Having played a Zach Myers before, I loved the wide fat neck. The DGT was a tad narrower and those jumbo frets took a month to get used to. I did switch to .010s and after a few months, I love this neck, feels perfect. Best guitar I’ve ever played and owned. I’m now playing the hybrid .0105 - .048s on her, perfect tension and action.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone...got my eye on one with a 59/09 in the neck and a DGT in the bridge... It also looks to have the old stye tuners - definitely not phase 3 (these are closed back and look like my CE with ivoriod pegs)...thoughts?
Just got my first PRS, an artist package DGT. I ordered this one so I couldn't play it or even see it until I opened the case. I can echo what others have said the frets are different but I've found that I really enjoy them! Great intonation along the whole neck and they feel great.
Get the DGT. It'll be all good.
Let’s all play our DGTs tomorrow night, at the same time...9pm Eastern time. That would have to cure cancer, or something.
What if I have 2 DGTs?
But only 1 me.
Then you need a friend who doesn't have one, like me. We're talking about curing cancer here... I'll take the not blue one.
How many DGTs does one person need?
All the DGTs.
The correct answer!
I have loved all my dgts but my 1990 custom 24 is still here
Oh, don’t get me wrong. While my DGT is loved so much, I’d never consider dumping my Cu24 or other PRSi. It’s a one way door at my house!
If I were an Eagles fan I'd refer to my basement of guitars as Hotel California... but I'm not.
“...but you can never leave...”
