It's not as good a single coil... but it's a better 'bucker.

I have 57/08`s in my old CE 24. The VB/HFS were too brittle wounding to my ears when clean. The covered 57`s are all that and a bag of chips. A fender addict I play with told me that they had that fat` meaty tone that the best humbuckers have.

Wow. I wax nostalgic for the old days when one had to buy a guitar to get the pickups. Oh, and then there was that period of time when if you bought a new guitar you'd get a second set of pickups for free. Seems kike that was a hundred years ago.....
