Very True.

My wife bought me one of these a few Christmases ago....it is pretty cool. For me, though, credit / gift card plastic doesn't make the best picks.

I thought about getting some sheets of pearloid or some other pick-making material from Stewmac, but thinking about it is about as far as I've gotten...

Yep - my daughter got me the same thing rugerpc got. They sell (or used to, anyway) more standard pick material in sheets.

Mrs Bebop got one from the thrift store for $3 a few months ago. I think it's a clever idea, but I would never use it. Proper picks are way too plentiful and affordable...
That being said, it could be fun for making 'pick' decorations / jewelry...

I picked up a PickPunch a few weeks ago through ThinkGeek. Decided a bit later to pick up some materials from the PickPunch site to see what kind of goodness I could make... unfortunately I haven't been able to find a glue that really adheres acrylic together, every single pick I've made has fallen apart within minutes of playing :(
