Anyone ever try Starla pickups in a CE? I have a CE-22 I'm considering putting them in, but wonder if they may be too bright with the maple top/neck? I'm looking for warm and chimey. I'm also considering Johnny Hiland pickups, as I thought they sounded great/were quite versatile in the Hiland I briefly had....definitely like a much fatter, chimey Tele pickup. Any other thoughts? Thanks for the suggestions.
