Hello everyone,
I'm new here and I've been obsessing over acquiring an SE Custom 24 for a few weeks now. The Core Custom 24 has been my dream guitar ever since I saw one in Guitar World magazine as a teenager and I just recently learned about the SE line and that I could have something pretty close! I've done tons of research and was initially planning to buy new but am starting to pivot towards buying used to save a little cash.
For anyone who has played an SE Custom from both years or better yet has owned them, I'm curious is much as changed from the 2022 to the 2024 models. The main thing I'm wondering about is the body carve. I really like the deeper carve. I've been looking at the 2024 quilts and see they have a pretty pronounced carve on them and I really like that.
I encountered a used 2022 Black-gold sunburst with the quilted maple top which initially threw me for a loop since I thought they were new as of 2024, but after a bit of research it appears to have been a sweetwater exclusive. In the pictures of the guitar that I'm looking to get, the body didnt seem to have much of a carve/bevel at all but its also hard to tell for sure due to the lighting of the images. Could someone possibly clear this up for me? I'm also asking the seller if they can send pictures of the side profile so maybe that will help.
Another question is, are the 2022 made in Korea or in Indonesia? It seems from what I've seen online that the Indonesian factory is really putting out some stellar quality so I was looking for one from there.
Sorry if this has been answered before. I tried doing my due diligence and scoured the internet before asking.
