SC58 v. SC245

If you're talking about the current SC245, not a lot.

The SC58 came standard with Artist Pack appointments and 57/08 pickups.

The current SC245 has 58/15s and you'd have to order the Artist pack as an upgrade to make it similar to the SC58 cosmetically.

The *original* SC245 was a different animal though with a one-piece bridge and different pickups again.

That's because your SC245 probably isn't absolutely current. :) They put 57/08s on them up until last year I think - since the SC245 was born out of amalgamating the Stripped 58 and SC58 into one model anyway. Both those singlecuts used 57/08s as well.

That said though I think you might still be able to get 57/08s on a new Artist Pack order too if you wanted to replicate the SC58 exactly...

AH HA! It really reminds me of my old Stripped 58.
No binding on the neck.

Binding was deleted for the first year of the amalgamated "new" SC245 but I believe they brought it back around 2014 or 2015.

I had a 2011 Stripped 58 57/08 and a 13 SC245 57/08 the only difference I noticed was the color.

I like that purple also. On another subject, Bodia didn't you have a guitar changed to purple at PTC ? I'm still having thoughts on what color to have them do my Artist. Where's that's link to your guitar?

I have a 2014 SC245, it has neck binding and 57/08s.

Most of the SC58s I have seen have been much "prettier". More uniform tops and typical PRS flame. Most of the sc245s (post sc58) seem to have softer/subtler/more vintage ( you know what years and guitar model) flame tops to them.

SC58s had "Artist Grade" tops by default so that would explain that!

You could order an SC245 in an Artist Pack config mind you so getting the "nicer" top was still on the menu, but I'm sure they were in smaller numbers compared to regular and 10-tops.
