Satin Moc Sand Finish Aging Over Time

Hey community! I recently purchased a satin moc sand Silver Sky and absolutely love the guitar and the finish. However, it sure gets nicked up easily! If the guitar touches anything it seems to damage the finish. I don't baby my guitars and don't mind blemishes, but I am wondering if anyone has experience with how this finish ages over time. Mayer compared the design of the Silver Sky to a Tesla, and I wonder how a Tesla might look all nicked and scratched up. Wondering if I should have gotten one of the non-satin finishes.
