She makes a distinction between chuggers and shredders...
IMO, it's just post-grad research dribble.
The fact it's getting the commentary it has, is more telling than any conclusion she came to.

lol I already knew its dribble without even reading it.

Will pass on the read.......Dont know what she wrote about them but heres my take on Chuggers and Shredders. Chuggers use just one finger in stacked drop tunings, Shredders use them all in standard.
 
Well I admit I didn't read the whole article but the gist of it being related to time spent practicing on the guitar has little to do with it. Or the debate between chuggers & shredders, cause only old farts like me listen to cats that play too many notes.

It all boils down to the men to women ratio.
