Lollar Or Other P90 Suggestions??

If you come across Reverend P90’s, they are as good as any I’ve played.
Those are the RailHammers that I mentioned in a Phat Cat thread that I was talking about. Reverend guitars owns RailHammer and RailHammer are pretty amazing but their Humbucker-sized P90 are even better than their actual P90's. I have the "Bully Corgans" set (Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan signature set) in my Tele and they've been pretty sweet!

That would be my first port of call as well. He is great to work with and winds a mean (pun intended) P90.

Have a set in my McSoapy and that one is special, especially with the set mean/underwound mean Wolfe wound.
How do the Wolfe pickups sound compared to the stock McSoapy pickups? I have a 1999 McSoapy and I'm finding the neck really boomy the lower the note, it would be great to have a tighter bottom end but retaining the smoothness at the higher notes...

Seymour Duncan Antiquities. The ones they put in the 594 Soapbar were, as far as I can tell, stock Antiquities with a slightly longer cover. They remain the most authentic sounding P90s I’ve ever heard, very clear with the nasty edge old P90s had through a hot amp.

I’m no P90 expert, but those would be the first P90 I’d put in any guitar with soapys that wasn’t making the grade.

Depends on the model of Wolfes PU. IIRC it is a regular duncan p01 neck model. If you tell wolfe what you want, I am sure he can tweak a little if needed. My "Mean underwound" neck PU was a little boomy, put in some alnico Vs on Wolfes suggestion and now it is clear, articulate, smooth and far from boomy. Happy camper.

Bridge on your mcsoapy is a fire breather, very high output. I replaced it with the low output "mean" p90. In retrospect I could have chosen a little more push with the meaner, but that is splitting hairs.

That's great to know, thank you - appreciate the advice.

I've just added a set of Hot Duncans to my soapy family which includes 2 sets of lollars , and 3 sets of the PRS / Duncans of various years. The Hot's are 25% hotter on the neck and 37% hotter in the bridge than what are in my PRS's . A bit dirtier but they can be delicious on the neck with the treble rolled back.
