I read a thread here about wood pick up rings. I ended up buying some and I really like the look. Now I'm thinking that I want to remove the plastic tops and replace them with wood... I'm thinking black walnut and maple... Has anyone else tried this.

Because I can't find them commercially, I'll have to make them.

Ha, stickers! Yeah, the bobbins are solid plastic, there wouldn't be any way to replace the tops, only some sort of veneer, such as a sticker.
