Hello

Anyone have the experience of upgrading a Korean SE 24?

Thanks Mats

I had one that I sold and it was stock. Then I ordered one and had the pickups changed to 59/09's together with 10 gauge string set and had them accommodate the nut to the larger gauge. Loving it.

i had an se 24 I up graded the switching to match a core. loved it but it made way for my 2nd Core. a 95 10 top 24. The one thing i did not do and should have was replace the SE nut. even after widening it for 10's it kept catching the base strings.

I've done it. My estimation was that the SE versions were about 80% of what the US versions were. In other words, I did notice an improvement but it wasn't a huge one. I could see staying with the SE versions unless you need that last 20% that the US versions can add.

I have a Custom 22 SE which I upgraded.
IMO the upgrade is well worth it. I upgraded it with a Tremont USA bridge and a Vintage Bass neck.
The stock SE pickups (and i tried an S2 the other day) all sound the same to me. They are decently hot, good all rounders but have no real character or tone to them.
You will notice a difference IMHO
