Bend it to the Owl!
I'm going to see a Santana guitar get played with the elements of Earth, Wind and Fire!
Anyone else going?

IIRC, you’re up north? Not sure how you get there, but if you go down 355 try getting off at 45 instead of 43. I do that, then cut across 191st St to 80th Ave. Hang a right and go south about a half mile, then cut through a residential neighborhood to 43. Coming at HCA from the south is a breeze. No 2 mile line of cars merging and trying to turn left.Carlos brought it!!! I saw him at Ravinia (Highland Park IL) in 2017 and was great!
This round they stepped it up 10 notches at least! Super intense and physically Carlos was really moving around the stage. Oh man, he was so expressive with his leads.
He played a Gold leaf (foil?) 594 SC looking guitar, but I assume its the 24.5 scale. No trem, single piece bridge, and the 4 control layout. I was expecting the salmon SC. It was GREAT! He also never changed guitars, but did play an acoustic thinline on a stand for one number. I really like that stuck with the one axe.
His band is something else. It seems so free and improv; they're tight as hell.
Guess the extra year delay paid off!! This was originally scheduled for 7/2/21.
Also...HCA in Tinley Park sucks to get to, and enter the theater. Once you're in is ok but missed all except the last song by earth Wind and Fire. Saw all of Carlos though
Report over, vaper OUT!
I'll DEF take that route next time. Thanks for that heads up! I'm up by Gurnee, think Six Flags.IIRC, you’re up north? coming from there, you could do 294 to 57 and get off at Vollmer. Take that west to 43, and then north to HCAI'll DEF take that route next time. Thanks for that heads up! I'm up by Gurnee, think Six Flags.
Oof! You missed EW&F?!?!Carlos brought it!!! I saw him at Ravinia (Highland Park IL) in 2017 and was great!

Only twice he did that this show...and I agree!Oof! You missed EW&F?!?!
I went to that Santana show at Ravina too! We had to leave early though as I couldn’t stand it any longer.
Carlos is great (obviously) but the problem with playing lead guitar over every song is, you run out of licks after 30 mins and start repeating yourself. After his fifth impassioned emotional chromatic ascent up the fretboard… I usually have to bolt.
