Hollowbody Spruce

Looking at a 20 year old Hollowbody Spruce but no video on it. Would use it for blues and classic rock. Not many youtubes on them either. Anyone use one for blues stuff?

I don’t have one, but have played Sergio’s. Fantastic guitar. I prefer the spruce over the maple on the HBII. Woodier tone. Should be perfect for what you are after.

Terrible Ted made some pretty decibel-heavy use of the Byrdland. I'd say it will do what's needed.

Paging Mr. @dogrocketp ! Paging Mr. @dogrocketp ! I'm surprised he hasn't weighed in here on this. I was looking at one a while back. In fact, one that he had recommended. Due to some health issues I couldn't move quickly enough and it got sold. But dogrocket has considerable intelligence on and experience with spruce hollowbodies. And has used it for blues. Hopefully we'll see him here soon.

Yeah, I got one. It can do anything!

The tops on the spruces come alive when you play them, it’s such a tactile joy to play. I understand the allure of the looks of a maple top but... Spruce is the sh!t.

cool, hopefully I can make it happen! Certainly affordable for a '99 HB Spruce in great condition.

These are great guitars. Because of the spruce top, they also sound wonderful without an amp, so it's a great guitar for playing around the house.

Sweet, I like being able to see the wood on the tops for sure, the one I'm looking at is antique white so I'm still on the fence.
