I've got a PRS McCarty model. The individual pole pieces for each string on both pickups were lowered down and are now even with the pickup covers. Should these be a certain height for optimal sound. Factory specs? Thanks

Really up to your preference. I like to raise the inner screws to roughly match the string radius, and fine tune by adjusting so each string is equally heard.

This^^^ but I like burying the screws a bit under the cover for hotter neck pickups.

I've played around with them, but ended up back where they started a level just above the cover. To each his own I guess.
