Evaluate This S2 Custom 22 Top

I just received an S2 Custom 22. I got $200 off the regular price. So far, I haven't found a defect (fingers crossed). But I think the blackish figure near the bridge pickup is kind of ugly. What do you think?

I've never owned a guitar with a figured maple top. I had to return an S2 Custom 24 due to a nasty dead spot (i.e., wolf tone) at the 11th fret on the B string. That 24 had much less pronounced figuring. So I'm not yet accustomed to the pronounced figuring on this S2 Cu22 Anyway, I like the low-output pickups of the S2 Cu22.

That's a nice top! One of the best examples of a scarlet red S2 I've seen.

I think the S2's are built to be played. None of the S2 'tops' I've seen yet were anything to brag about.
imho, I would prefer a solid color, but I'm really waiting to try out a 'standard' (all 'hog) model.
