Recently got my first lefty PRS SE. The pots are some of the best I’ve had… being a lefty I have a total mishmosh of righties wired left handed etc etc. I’ve noticed that the tone seems to stay fairly bright as I roll down, so I was wondering if my SE Custom 24 have treble bleed? Thanks!

I would think so. Probably a 180 pf cap across the input and output terminals of the volume pot.

Just remove the back cover, take a look and see.

So how dose the 180 pf cap compare to a .001cap and 150k resistor?
180pf just shelves the low end and preserves treble.

A 1000pf cap with a 150k resistor in parallel tries to play a best of both worlds. the 1000pf cap allows more treble, but the 150k resistor allows the low end to roll off different, a bit more in parallel to the treble sticking around. Long story short its an attempt to keep more treble while you roll down without killing all the bass. Theres so many variations on treble bleeds and as much as treble bleed vs not is a personal preference, the values of treble bleed youll like is a personal preference also.

I almost always go 680pf/150k in parallel..some i do 1000pf/150k.

It’s sounds like I should go ahead and uninstall the bleed circuit that’s originally installed and replace it with the.001 cap and 150k resistor as I like the bass and treble to be parallel in volume. 👍
