DIY Guitar Kits

I've been looking for a beater travel guitar and was wondering about those DIY kits. Was wondering if anyone has built one and was it worth a darn when done? Looks like it would be a fun project. Thoughts?

Not really a kit, but I just bought a pine Tele body to build up - it’s a Tonebomb out of Canada - pretty cheap, too. Figuring out what neck and pups now - estimating it to be a bit cheaper than a standard MIM Tele when done.

This route or a kit - either way it’ll be a fun COVID project.

Really looking for one of those kits where everything is in the box and you just put it together and finish the wood. Solo has some nice ones.
