Date of inspection - 8 months from production?

I've got an SE HBIIP and it has a serial number CTIF, which denotes a 2022 production year. However, it has an inspection date of August '23. Does it really take that long to inspect a guitar, or is do I have a 2023 model?

They may have assigned the serial number at the time they started the build and then it was inspected when it was finished. With a hollow body a long build time wouldn't surprise me.

Is the serial# when they started it at Cor-Tek, and the inspection date from the Maryland factory? Could explain the time lapse.
