Can anybody verify the color coding of the leads on the 59/09 set and HFS/VB set? Both sets are going into singlecuts with the 594 push/pull wiring. Thanks in advance!
Hi guys, I just replaced the 58/15's in my 2019 McCarty (single conductor wiring) with 59/09's (four conductor), using this schematic: http://www.prsguitars.com/documents/custom3waytoggle.pdf I installed the pickups exactly like the schematic: Bridge pickup - black wire (hot): to 3way toggle...

The wiring code for the 59/09s will be the same as the current 594 wiring diagram. The HFS/VB will differ. Keep in mind that the specs for the two pickup sets are different. The 59/09 is a more balanced set. The HFS/VB set has a much hotter bridge, along with a ceramic magnet. They will sound much different from each other:
- HFS Treble: 15k, Ceramic mag
- VB: 8.5k, Alnico 2 mag
- 59/09 Treble: 9.3k, Alnico 2 mag
- 59/09 Bass: 8.4k, Alnico 2 mag
Here are the wiring color codes for the HFS/VB:
Here is a current 594 wiring diagram - note the resistors on the tone pots, this configuration did not exist when the HFS/VB first came out. The resistors help improve tone when using coil-tap mode. It may not be necessary on the HFS, due to the higher resistance. Generally, PRS says its fine to keep the resistors, regardless of what PRS pickups you install.:
