Hopefully you only applied the FB conditioner to the FB...
you can slide a cloth under the strings and shimmy between frets (parallel to frets) to remove any wet, remaining conditioner.
Some of it will absorb into the Fingerboard wood...but I personally only do it about 1 time a year.
(usually change strings one at a time, except for that specific treatment-time.
Hope this helps.

Just curious, what will happen to the fretboard if you forgot to wipe off the guitar cleaner or fretboard conditioner?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

If one forgets to wipe away the conditioner or cleaner, there may be some discolored wood grain (usually lighter white markings, spots, or streaks) that indicate an incomplete job. Fretboards more noticeably. The key is to do due diligence and do a good job cleaning, not just a half-hearted one.
