What was my bright idea? Trying to put a bunch of opposites together in a song. Modern & vintage sounds, stock guitar licks & trying totally unique phrasing, simple & complex progression, all at the same time.
Everything went swimmingly along until the last part, the solos. What I quickly found that my simple 4 chord progression had an odd interval for the last chord and due to that, improvising in one key gets stale and sounded pathetic within a couple bars. I had to dig down deep into my inner Jan Hammer to pull off the synth solo but after about 50 semicrappy takes on the guitar solo I said to myself .... "Well this was your bright idea".
Eventually I got it done and the name stuck, thanks for listening.
