And yeah, if you don't need a pedal platform, and want something easily totable and standalone, Vox and Fender both have some decent practice amps which sound perfectly fine. I'll check tomorrow about the Fender -- my lesson is on a cheap Fender -- and the Vox is the AC4. It has a couple different flavours, good for most things you can think of. They also have solid state ones which are surprisingly not bad. You should check out their whole line.
