Amazing trade for ‘94 PRS Goldtop STD. 24

I did a killer trade for this PRS with a member on this for.

He had an add up on FBMP for sale or trade.

We talked about guitars I was willing to trade and of the guitars I was willing trade , he found one he was interested in.

He ended up living about 39 minutes away, so I went with guitar in hand to do the trade.

I got there and auditioned his guitar and then he auditioned mine.

When the trade was finalized, he said he’d install new strings and intonate the guitar.

While he was doing the work, we talked about band and guitars.

He has a killer PRS collection, and I’m glad he had a lot of more expensive guitars so he’d let this one go.

Here’s my new to me ‘94 PRS Goldtop Standard 24.

PS - I forgot to mention that this guitar came loaded with a set of 57-08’s.

These pickups sound glorious, but I’m sure most here already know this.

Yea I’m sure this trade wouldn’t sit well with most of this forum.

He’s really a great guy, he just really needed what the Gibson offered.

Thanks guys.

After playing this guitar for a few days now, I’m convinced these are some of the best of PAF style HB’s.

I actually like the 57/08 neck over the DGT neck pickup.

I do favor the bridge DGT pickup over the 57/08 bridge.

I’m now thinking that a pairing of the 57/08/neck and DGT/ bridge would be an awesome stock pairing in a PRS Core guitar.

I think that a 57/08/neck and 59/09/bridge would also make an awesome stock pairing as well.

What are your thoughts?
