I also changed the bridge to mastery bridge. The reason was that with the original bridge I could not lower tge action enough. I did a lot of upgrades to the vela, a local luthier refrteted the guitar with jumbo stainless steel frets with ball ends (he did a superp job), I like the slippery feel...
I still dont understand, among so many options and models (piezo, different neck shapes, switching possibilities etc) why still there is no a stoptail core custom 24?
Thank you very much for the info guys.. then I guess I will order my Vela tomorrow :). The S2 Satin line is really invaluable. I have core series too but somewhat S2 satins vibrate better and are also much lighter in weight. Maybe because of absence of maple top.
I intend to by a Vela without trying (internet), could anyone share experience in regards of Vela's bridge playing comfort? I mean if you lower the action do the lowering bolts pop out of the saddles and then start stinging your hand when you place your hand over the bridge? It seems from the...
It is an old conversation but I would like to add something. I have a 2013 P22 wood library a 2012 P24 LTD and then I decided to buy an S2 charcoal standard 24 through internet . I had high expectations and when the guitar arrived I started inspection and really the guitar is fine, fret work is...
Yes I can block it with a piece of wood but it is not the same thing :), according to my sick opinion it makes something more imperfect than it already is :). But if I cannot find something and the private stock price turns out more than what I expect than that is what I am going to do. Which is...
I am not a fan of hipshot bridge, it looks cool on the pictures and I ordered it on a Kiesel custom and I did not like it, because it has sharp corners. But I see that PRS has upgraded that type of bridge on the Holcomb guitar. It has rounder edges compared to the hipshot. I really like the...
Guys does anybody have any idea if ever PRS is going to release a fixed bridge 24 fret Core Series guitar? If not I think I have to start working for a private stock :) .
Thanks guys, it is interesting though why PRS keeps using confusing names on pickups. If I did not know really what my pickups are I might have bought myself a 57/08 pickup set from ebay :). It would be a surprise :).
I have a 2013 model P22 Wood Library, behind the pickups it is only written P22 but does someone know what they really are. As I searched it seems they might be 57/08 but there is no official info anywhere. Thanks guys.
There might be something wrong with the positioning of the bolt holes. It seems when you tight them occurs a pressure to the pickups legs. I might be wrong of course but it is best to show it to a luthier :).
