Just like the Fender Strat the Gibson LP has its own sound as does the PRS. I own all three and love each one. In comparing I'd say the PRS has a better feel when playing, The Fender Strat is smooth playing and clean sounding, and the Gibson LP has the better solid feel and sound.
I was sort of in your position about 6 months ago. I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and owned most every make but the PRS. Heard a lot of good stuff and wanted to give it a shot. I went to a forum and asked the same questions, which of course I got the same answers. Problem was I...
I think when most ask what is the "best" what they're really asking is what is considered good. I know at least in my case I know nothing about PRS guitars but wanted to try one out without making the mistake of basing my opinion off a POS model. So I may ask which is best just looking for...
I agree with who said I don't mind good "honest" relic guitars. I know I've put some of my guitars through hell and back so showing some wear is expected. I'm not proud of every ding or dent, but it happens. But to intentionally beat the crap out of a perfectly good guitar just seem bazaar.
While that sounds like sound advice GuitarDrummer that isn't always an option.
In my case I live in a small southwest Kansas city that doesn't have a music store. It would be a 2 1/2 hour drive to get to one where I could just pick a Gibson/Fender/PRS off the shelf and try first. I also work at...
I agree completely. PRS makes the best. But will they ever have a $500,000 seller? I know there isn't a guitar made worth near half a million dollars, but people seem to be willing to pay it for an old Gibson.
I collect collectible cars & guitars for my kids future. I just wonder if PRS will or...
Well I don't think it has so much to do with say the 1959 Les Paul being worth much because its better, but because it was a major player in a time music was evolving. It played a big part in that evolution.
I have a 64.5 Mustang Convertible that drives like sh!t compared to modern cars. Manual...
Nothing wrong with a few battle scars, although personally I would prefer none, but some of these relic jobs I've seen look like the guitar was used as an oar for a row boat for 20 years. I've got a 42 year old Electra I personally gigged with no mercy that still looks pretty nice. Got a few...
