Nice write up. I'm old, 75, We didh't have modelers back in the day. My heroes all used tube amps.. I still use tube amps.
Just because something is new does not make that something better than what it's attempting to replace.

You are talking about 1/4 inch in over all length. I have a 594 and I really like the scale length. I also have an older McCarty with a 25" scale length.
I don't really notice much, if any, difference between the two necks when I play.
I too am looking at a Hollowbody II Piezo. Can only get it...
I play clean more often than I play distorted I do have a 594 SC for doing distorted. The HBII is a relatively light guitar which apples to me as well. I think th 59/15 pickups would sound sweet with a semi hollow guitar.
Excellent article. The word I'd like to use, and not to be trite, is Synergy. That's where the ultimate effect of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
My 594 SC is a perfect example of that.
