Random. No more or less

Had to make a drive into the city yesterday for some new specs. Local shop was a 3 month wait and 3x the cost so I said screw it and went to Costco. $50 for fuel and 4 hours in the two trips doesn't make much sense for spending another $800 to stay local. I hate that I did it in a way after being so adamant on supporting local town merchants (being one of them most all my life) but there is a dividing line for loyalty when it's triple the cost and over 10x the waiting period.
Anyway, back on the trip topic. Was below freezing and a slight threat of flurries when I left, but 3/4 of an hour south the sun was out and the skies were clear (as were the highways), and the temps climbed well past the freezing mark. Got to the Lights and it was +11*c (pushing 50*f) and I walked into the giant warehouse store in a sleeveless shirt (left my jacket on the passenger seat) and it was so nice! Picked up my new glasses and wore them out to try the speed of the transition lenses in the bright sun. Wow, super fast tint action. Last pair of photochromic glasses I had took a 20 minute stint in the deepfreeze to activate them with any promptness so this was really great. Of course that was 20 years ago too so I reckon things have changed. But really nice to not be worried about putting a clip on the glasses for bright sun, and I have lost/ruined a couple of the clip-on shades over the years.
So driving back, I was amazed to see insect life buzzing around the parking lot and in the outskirts of the city. Then a few miles out, splat, bug guts on the windshield! So I'm thinking cool, motorcycle season real soon! Fast forward another 40 miles and the sunlight gave way to a huge front complete with heavy overcast and wind gusts. Temperature dropped by 10 degrees and suddenly there was snow in the air. Pffffttt, not getting the Goldwing out of the garage anytime soon I guess. Proof positive, if you're not content with the weather in Alberta, just wait a bit, it will change. Too bad it's usually not for the better.

Today is absolutely beautiful out. A little on the nippy side. Walked Frankie and Blade by themselves because poor Ben can’t keep up anymore especially with braces on now! A trip down memory lane with pop tunes from the 80’’s. Everybody Wangchung tonight❤️

Live for TODAY! Get in the flow!

Easter=chocolate in my books. Going right after Easter because everything goes on sale. We have a Canadian chocolatier named Laura Secord. They make the best damned Easter eggs ever.

And….your favourite absolute donut? Mine for now is a savoury 3 cheese donut heated slightly in the micro. The cheese melts and you get the visual.

I absolutely love Dunkin Donuts Boston Cream and Apple Fritters. They put apple pie filling in the fritters. I don't eat sugar anymore except on rare occasions so I don't get to eat these anymore. I am betting by how I have had negative reactions when eating things high in sugar lately that they would make my stomach not feel good so there would be no reward for eating them. That doesn't mean I don't still love the taste of them. :)

Zelda turned 1 this week.

Zelda and her sister Lucy (named after Lucille Bluth), are cane corsos aka Italian Mastiffs. Zelda is a super affectionate girl that can best be described as semi-controlled chaos. Her nickname, ragazza pazza, literally means crazy girl in Italian.

They are sophisticated and cultured ladies of the world. They don’t ride to the gas station in a pickup to get beer. They are chauffeured in a luxury suv to Total Wine for bourbon and other fine spirits.

That’s actually true. Employees at the Total Wine by us keep milk bones in their pockets for when dogs come in.

Here you can see their royal highnesses relaxing after a trip to the dog park.

I want to play with your dogs.

Well, it's a very lazy day for me here. Missus is vacationing in Phoenix with a gal pal at some local friends' winter home so I'm just chillin' out in my PJ's and not really doing what I should be with chores and such. But the weather is supposed to improve and that should lighten the spirit and energize me more to get with it. Lord knows it was crap yesterday, even had the wood stove going last night it was so chill. How the (bleep) did I get through the winter when it's 40 below when it was only 8 degrees below freezing with a howling North wind yesterday. Wednesday was shirtsleeves fer Gawd sake...😟
And yeah, there is chocolate to be had too. And of course my guitars beckon...Happy Easter to all!

They are just gorgeous. Oh my! I love me a gigantic dog. The faces are to die for! I could spoil them even more rotten then you! Lol I am sure they would love my Pink Floyd massages. I bought a massage mitt for my 3 of the other day. They went crazy with a full body massage. I worked through their spines and discs. And then on to their appendages. They have a bean bag heat or cold therapy bag for each of them. They know what I am doing as they see the bean bag go in the microwave. Or I go put their blankets in the dryer for a few and then I wrap them up like little piggies in their blankets. They will stay there and sleep.

Your pups are like runway models! Gorgeous and so sleek.

It’s funny, they seem small to me. My sense of perspective is ruined after living with their predecessors (English Mastiffs) for the last 10 years. When they’re full grown their combined weight will be less than the big guy we lost summer. You can see a picture on him with Zelda when she was a puppy in the man’s best friend thread.

And trust me on this one, compared to me, you are an amateur when it comes to spoiling dogs :)

Easter USED to mean chocolate to me, but I have to be very careful with sugar these days, it upsets my stomach pretty easily. A blessing in disguise. I used to be able to eat an entire slice of chocolate layer cake WITH ICE CREAM, and now I can only have 3-4 bites.

Donuts... kind of the same! Used to be Boston Creme and chocolate/chocolate, but now I really enjoy a simple glazed or a cruller, on the rare occasions I have one (maybe 3 times a year?)

Dog weather has finally arrived here as well, looks like from this week on we have actual spring... so the dog beds go out on the patio and they can hang outside for large portions of the day. I wish they had a doggie door, but it would have to be a big one... they are greyhounds. And it's a patio slider.... I've seen some weird screen thing they sell, it's like 2 pieces that snap together with magnets or something? Not sure my dogs could figure out how to use it LOL

Work is stressing me out. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. I am starting to have some really bad stomach issues. I think I may be leaving sooner than expected. I really needed my benefits until August. But if I stay there anymore I know it’s down hill all the way. I feel it both physically and mentally draining me and I can’t completely recover each time this hits me!

I went for my EEG for my seizures and as I was talking to the technician. Just a wonderful ppl person. Great bedside manner. He was telling me all the things that can bring on non epileptic seizures. That’s currently the road I speeding down. I really need to just shut down from this horrid toxic place and say good bye! Take a nice break and then get a part time job just to keep my mind sane.

Damn Girl, sounds like hell! Don't know what to say other than stay strong ;~)) You are so close and you have been counting down to your retirement from there for some time!! I hope you can find a way to stick it out. Any chance you telling them about what it is doing to you would change anything? My heart is with you!!!

I can’t abide by my companies policies anymore. I had to leave work today again because of what’s going on with my health issues. They were literally upset with me! I am absolutely drained, always on edge, being treated like dog doo doo after I haven given them my life to them. This is just going to go from bad to a new nightmare that I don’t want to experience. Corporate has hired some young guns. They think their sh*t don’t stink. Hatred is starting to rear it’s ugly head.
Just too many games being played now and there is going to be a loser. And that will be me. They have compromised my health long enough. I am literally at my wit’s ends. I have had enough. My loyalty to this company has always been to a fault. You know when you just have to say NO MORE. There’s no more I can do! HR is a joke. Always putting the company before employees.

I have been pondering this all night. I told my youngest son about what’s going on and did he have any positive thoughts about what I sm doing. He sent me this.

Mom you will be fine, at the very least to tell whoever you have to talk to about it because you've been having ongoing stomach problems and have seen specialists because of it and it's still not fixed.Your now seizures. You look horrible. You have lost too much weight. Your health has been greatly affected/compromised.
You've worked there for 14 years, you are the literal backbone of that company and if they want to give you no support they are f*cking stupid and it's to your benefit as you don't need their sh*t/stress anyways! You will be fine! Big deal! THEY NEED YOU, YOU DONT NEED THEM! Lol, that place will burn to the ground without you hahaha! So don't worry and who cares what they do!

It’s 4:40 am can’t sleep. It has to change. Had to vent.
