What car would you drive if you had to pick one from the year you were born?

1979 was a crappy year for cars, so I'll pick a truck. I've read it's the fastest American-made vehicle at the time. Get the gear to the gig quick with style! And hot girls will come help you wash it, apparently...

It was a great year for cars...hard to choose...one of these two probably...

Heck maybe BOTH!!!!

1964 Chevelle Malibu SS. took me a while to decide on this, especially because my grandfather bought a Mustang when i was born.

My wife's grandfather bought a 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible brand new. It had his name on a nameplate on the dash. It continues to be a sweet car, still runs, but sadly, after he passed the car went to my wife's uncle instead of her dad, so it won't get handed down to us. :(

I changed mine. Turns out there was no Judge package on the '73 GTO.

If I can't have a Judge, it's gotta be a 1973 Carrera RS in green.

Or white/red.

Well, my first choice would have to be a '97 Firebird...

My second would be a '97 BMW 7 series... such cool cars...

...not hung up on the color - red or black is fine

But more likely I'd rock this:

If I was born in '54 or '55, I would wholeheartedly agree. And as for my previous comments about where the 4x12 goes for gigs, if I had enough money for a gullwing, I'd also have enough money to pay someone to move my 4x12 around for me.

1984 mk1 golf/rabbit gti I had one before and I regret selling it

Either of these would do me on a nice sunny day

My grandfather bought a blue 4 door Rabbit in 1979, and they liked it so much that they bought another one in '82 for my grandmother. I want to say the '82 was a diesel and ran without any problems until my grandfather passed in 1999.

My car was the most unreliable car I've had but by far the most fun. It had a 2 litre Audi engine on twin 45 weber carbs, a 1.6 scirocco gearbox and only had 2 bucket seats in the front. I loved it and drove it everyday, when it started to get temperamental I got the tools out and sorted it myself outside the house. Good times
