Hey all,
Just stopping by to introduce myself. Thrilled to pick up a new PRS in Sunflower last week. Dazzling tones. Coming from 90s EBMM Axis Sport HH which I also love. Play in busy cover and originals band mashing up lots of styles which seem to get stylized in our funk rock and acid jazz leanings. Have some string gauge questions i will post elsewhere. Cosidering switching the 10s for hybid 9.5-44s but dont want to mess with trem or other setup stuff. For now, love this guitar.

Welcome! I love my Fiore as well. I don't think I really realized what people meant when they said "spanky" until I got this guitar. :)

I used to play an Axis. Cool guitars but narrow at the nut.

If you change to lighter strings you might have to mess with the tremolo springs at least. Maybe the truss rod too.

Both might need to be loosened very slightly. Or not.

Seems to go that way for me...usually!

Welcome! I was a long time EBMM player (had 4 Axis & A. Sports as well as a Sil. Spec. and Albert Lee at one point, back around 2k5-10 when I only had one PRS) and only really started moving over to PRS after picking up my 25th Anniversary Custom... 13 years later, I'm without any EBMMs for about two years or so... Wonderful guitars, but I just grew to prefer my PRS guitars more...

Anyway, all my 25" or 25.5" scale PRS guitars are strung with d'addario EXL120+ .0095-.044 sets, and I've had no trouble tweaking my setups to this string guage. That's up from 9s (on the Custom 24, for example) or down from 10s (like on my Dustie)... just the occasional easy peasy subtle adjustment to get the trem level and tweak the intonation on some of them...

Congrats and Welcome! The 9.5's don't mess with the setup much at all if any . I've done it on most of mine , maybe a slight intonation tweak.

Welcome! And the obligatory...

Welcome to the slippery slope of PRSi ownership Fiore4Me! There will be more!! As you can see from previous posts, we love our 6 string porn, so be sure to post some pix of your guitar soon or there may be pitchforks headed your way!!!

Thanks. Been using the Daddaro 9.5s as well and put them on Fiore Monday. Will need to loosen trem spings a bit as it no longer floats.
