Lot 42, the Gibson Les Paul '59 sold for 693,000 pounds (includes a 143K buyers premium), $881,842 final in dollars.

As for me, that 1988 gold triple pickup Pensa-Suhr was the one I'd have...it went for GBP 400K, 504K including buyer's premium.
That converts to only $642,471...
