How can you tell if it's a maple cap on a solid color.

I got my 1993 22 and was told it's a CU 22 because PRS didn't make a standard in 93. In the bridge pickup cavity it's just has the serial # and it says NO BINDING. What I'm trying to figure out is if I have a std. Or custom?

I have no idea what I'm looking at. If you look at the picture you,can see a line where it appears to be a lighter colored wood on top.btw it's back in

How thick would it be? I think it's a standard. Unless the cap goes all the way to the bottom of the cavity

You guys are so much more helpful than me.

I was gonna suggest the old "drill'n'sniff" test...

I the early days PRS sometimes called "Standard" what was a solid color. There were quite a few CU24s marketed as Standards but had maple tops.
Yours has a maple top for sure. Check how there is a lighter type of wood (maple) on top of a darker one (mahogany).
Here is a pic of the pickup cavity of my 1992 Custom to compare.

Same thing!
Regardless of how anyone calls it you have a nice maple top 22 fret guitar, with a great set of pickups! Enjoy it in good health!!!
