Hollowbody I piezo/magnetics problem... help!

Hey all,

So, I've got an '03 HBI that has recently developed issues with the piezo/magnetics system. When running split, piezo to PA and mags to amp, my magnetic pickup signal becomes intermittent. It's glitchy and crackly almost like a cable is being pulled in/out but it also has this white noise/gated thing going on too - like a voltage starved fuzz.

I've of course changed the battery and cleaned the jacks, pots, etc. to no avail. I did reach out to PRS directly but was wondering if anyone here may have had a similar experience.

Does it only happen when you're using both jacks, or also if you're just using the mag one? From your description, I'd take at look at the solder connections. An easy fix if you're handy with a soldering iron, (or for your local luthier if you're not)

Thanks. I ended up fishing out the electronics and found a suspect joint. Re-flowed it and all seems to be well.
