Help Me Identify this Guitar

I played this guitar center to day. I had them put it on layaway for pick up tomorrow, I'm still not 100%, but it plays like an amazing guitar. Which year/model of McCarty does this look like and what pickups does it have (I know it push pot on the tone control). If so is that a good price?

Guitar center gave my the serial number it was 09145xxx I think. Does that make it a 2009? And does that mean it has the 57/08s?

AFAIK only the MC58 had 57/08s. If it's a standard McCarty then it will have McCarty pickups.

Does 1300 look like a good price (from GC I'm thinking at that price something might be wrong with it), and there are alot of people on ebay selling McCarty's with 57s that don't appear to be the 58.

If i didn't remember wrongly, before 2011, the first number of the serial number tells you the year. It should be a 2010 model, right? :iamconfused: Please correct me if i'm wrong.

edit: Or, the pickups could have been replaced already. The 1300 price is too good to be true. Be sure to enquire the seller.

If the SN starts with 0, it is either a 1990 or a 2000.

I don't know if the first production years for McCartys includes 1990, though,

GC told me that the seller was some famous guy or something who had to many guitars... I can't remember who he was, I think his band was like a one hit wonder.

Plenty of McCartys have sold for $1300, I saw a 57/08 McCarty sell for like $1650(at GC) - and that was limited and hand numbered. There have been some regular McCarty's with 57/08s that aren't MC58's. Go back in and snap a couple pics of it? Likely a 2009.

+1 used market prices are in the range of $1200 - $1800 for a McCarty, varying my condition and features. Your price is good it the condition is right.

Single digit year identifiers stopped in 2007. In 2008 the year code was 08. So 09 would be a 2009 McCarty and the serial number falls in the range for that year which was 143001 - 157200. It seems to check out. If you like it, buy it! Oh, and McCarty pups are great!
