Noob question. I recently bought a 92 CE 22. The previous owner had the 5 way rotary switch replaced with a push pull and a 3 way toggle. When The bridge pick up is selected in humbucking mode, it has a Cocked wah sound. With the coil split/cut it sounds like a normal single coil. What are the wire colors for Hot, Ground, and coil? I am abandoning the coil split as I don't use it. I will be putting a 250k pot with a .22 cap in the push pull pot's location. Any help is appreciated!

I would guess that the two coils of the bridge humbucker are wired out of phase.

I would guess that black is hot, red and white tie together to the split switch and shield is ground.

How is it wired currently?

I believe Elvis is right. Bridge, Black is hot. Might be reverse for neck pickup. I can check in a bit.

Thanks, guys,. Currently, the red wires from the neck and bridge pick up are wrapped together and soldered to the push pull. The white and bare wires are ground. The black goes to the switch.
