Recently bought a beautiful new DGT standard in the GC markdown sale. Gorgeous Ice Blue metallic, plays/sounds great.
But a few days after I got it home, I noticed that the control cover plate is bowed outward. Took it off - sure enough, it's a really tight fit, and won't fit flat, so it bows. I don't remember seeing this in the store. I have (an embarrassing number of) other PRS electrics, including a DGT maple top, and haven't seen this on any of them before either.
I'm not returning it. It's far too cool. So, the options seem to be:
- live with it
- sand the control plate lightly around the edges till it fits (a fiddly enterprise)
- send it to PTC for repair, incurring a shipping cost
- get GC to handle a warranty repair (not confident that will come out well)
Anyone seen this before? Suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
