Any problems with clip-on tuners ruining serial numbers?

I have a few headstock clip-on tuners (PolyTune, etc.) that I use but have wondered if anybody has ruined the serial numbers by rubbing them off using them on PRS guitars?

For a while G&L used decals on top of the finish and clip-ons would just eat them up in no time flat (pun intended) ;)

No problems here for over 20 years with any of my core models...can't speak to the SE line or matte finishes though.

The serial numbers are underneath clear coat, so you'd have to wear through that first. I'd think you'd notice if the tuner was destroying the finish!

Hmmm, I do have a CU24 with a satin finish maple neck. I'll keep a close eye on that one for a while
