another Luthier's perspective

just a little of what go through, I get all kinds of input from clients .. sometimes it's as simple as "make it pink and sparkly and I love Jimi"

luckily she was pleased and it made it in a video shortly after I gave it to her ...Ms Chelsea Shag

That was really interesting. Two thoughts:

Yes, he's right, that's exactly why I wanted a maple Tonare Grand - to get the immediate attack and quick decay in a dense mix. The guy is right on.

And whoever put this video together forgot to use a high-pass filter to get rid of the horrible low frequency HVAC noise that permeates the audio and makes it nearly unlistenable. Arrghhhh!!

it took 6 weeks to get a smooth lacquer coat over that glitter! Dyeing the flame neck to match was dicey

Thanks .. Duncan Hendrix pickups, Wilkinson trem, I carved the headstock to look like a DQ ice cream swirl . a few years after the vid and I was at a bar gig and this cat and I started talking guitars , turns out he'd played that one and loved it too .. it was cool on both sides.
