String Change Procrastinator Has A Big Idea

I had my own string changer until he grew up and moved out. I'd buy him new strings for his guitars if he'd change mine at the same time. Now I too have become a procrastinator. As a matter of fact, my 408 is in desperate need of a new set now...

    What Was Your First Guitar?

My first guitar was a Washburn acoustic dreadnaught. I don't remember the model right now but it was a basic non-electric, non-cutaway. It actually has very good sound for a starter and I do still have it. My son keeps wanting to take it in fact even though I've already bought him several...

    Let's talk about Beer, man!

Forgot about two others I highly recommend people try. Trey Pistoles is awesome. It's been one of my go to favorites for about six years. Another great one I discovered about a year ago. Tank 7 farmhouse ale.

Blake Shelton Chicago - Tinley Park

My wife and I went to see Blake Shelton Saturday night outdoors near Chicago. On three songs they used a PRS that looked very much like my own guitar. Awesome. I tried to identify exactly what model it was but couldn't. It looked like a Custom or P22 perhaps. It was 22 frets, two...

    Anniversary of D-Day

I visited there 10 years ago when I was lucky enough to spend some time in Europe. When you see the actual location, the remains of the bombed out bunkers, the never ending graves, you start to realize the magnitude of what actually went on there. It's a shame that stuff like that has to happen.

Had an awesome day in the Adirondacks yesterday!!

Absolutely beautiful place. I was in the area last summer for a wedding. I love being up in the mountains. Maybe this summer.

    New music suggestions

Try listening to Jason Aldean. I doubt you will be depressed. And I second the comment about Paisley's CD Play. I bought it a few years ago and only wish I could play that clean and that fast. I've only been playing about 15 years so mabe in another 15 I'll get there.

Does it annoy or worries you, if you find some small dents/ scratch on your guitar?

I try to be careful with mine but they have developed character over time. The worst one was setting up at church and my strat fell over into my Taylor. I have a rather deep depression about three inches from the soundhole. It stings less now that the damage is over a year old but it still...

My son wants to play guitar!

My youngest son is an avid player. He has also become a decent songwriter. Unfortunately he never wanted to spend much time playing anything with me. I did get him to perform "Wish You Were Here" with me live at a small gig once. I have it recorded on video. That was awesome.
