It’s a very elegant solution. I tend not to use my trem because I’m heavy handed / aggressive and I will put it out of tune. Nothing a dip of the bar cant sort but there’s always that doubt/building it into your playing style etc.
PRS does tend to reserve the best/new features for PS at first...
My Tremonti core is great. Stable neck and rarely needs tuning but on mine the trem does cause it to detune slightly under string bending (g string is the worst). It's not an issue though.
A simple dip of the bar brings it back into tune.. I think most players, after a while, learn to do this...
Suhr's comments were probably related to 25.5" guitars - he's often stated that even mahogany doesn't sound like what people expect it to when comparing to shorter scale lengths (harder tone etc).
Of the PRS I've tried I definitely preferred the mahogany neck over maple. Just more what I am...
I hate this thread... :)... I'd love to say the a PRS PS is all marketing but my PS 245 is still the loudest, most musical guitar I own. Can't wait to be in a position to order another. The quality of the tops and finishing is really exceptional lately.
Great guitars, the Santana model is pretty rare in the U.K. - you may find one at a dealer if your're lucky. Guess they're not that popular compared to the customs and 594 (which is selling crazy well here).
What sort of music do you play on them?
I played three 594s today. For me they were the best sounding, and playing, PRSs I've played in a long time. Amazing job PRS have done, the feel is fantastic.
PRS has had been in a high innovation period lately. The new locking saddles looks like a really great design and elegant solution, I really hope they cascade down to the core range at some point (even as a chargeable option). New finishes were introduced and the newer pickups sound really good...
I have two Suhrs, one with SS and one with standard frets. I definitely prefer SS - they just do not wear to the same degree as nickel and feel like new even after 8 years of heavy play. I have a 3rd Suhr currently on order with jumbo SS.
I have to admit though that my 2009 PS and 2011 Tremonti...
