We are almost the same on personal tastes, I’d swap Trey Anastasio for Beck and call it a day.???
Why would you want to filter out the personal tastes of this?!?! I think for each of us this is the mountain carving based on exactly that.... our personal tastes.
Here are the carvings based on my personal tastes:
Jeff Beck
Carlos Santana
Eric Clapton
Stevie Ray Vaughan.
And nobody’s picked Gilmore? Shocker
No Duane Allman either?
Elsewhere on the interwebz, I saw Warren Haynes' post about EVH's death. He didn't address it as a Rushmore situation, but he said in his mind, there were four (so it fits) people who altered the course of the electric guitar, and it's hard to argue w/his choices:
Charlie Christian
Les Paul
Jimi Hendrix
Eddie Van Halen
Sorry, no write in votes for Bing Crosby. That was in the rules for the thread. Please read the rules before posting.those choices are right out of the guitar book though and therefore boring choices.
how about bing crosby if they invented tape so he could go home during his radio show?
I’ve never heard James Taylor use Wah!
Maybe on his vocals!

I'd have a hard time arguing with the likes of Warren Haynes, that man is about as pure of a guitarist as they come (and that golden, soulful voice....Mmmmmmmmmm).those choices are right out of the guitar book though and therefore boring choices.
