Loving nature’s wonders
Nice work Pav. I love the open backs on the Phase III.

Cheers, it's not finished yet. I had some problems getting touchup pens from Stewmac, but I have them on the way in the end.
Yeah, phase III tuners are fire. So precise.
If he's in the UK, I'm happy to get him a spare setJust thinking @Riplead might be able to use the Stewmac pens on the 513 (509) neck.

I will ask my sidekick Robin to hold fire with a parcelHopefully he’ll answer the Bat Call
You are a top dude
True, but I'm super happy with Howard's crayons. Simple yet effective. I can't wait to see how it will look with the touch-up pensLooks good. If you had a plug cutter or dowel cutter you could have cut the plugs from face grain and maybe hidden them better in the face grain of the peghead. But it looks good. Most people would have done it the way you did.
No more progress, I'm afraid. The guitar is now on Reverb. If I kept it (still may), I would either keep it as is or eventually give it to PTC to refinish in Tabaco Burst with an opaque backBump for progress, if any!
Side note - if you don't like Phase III's for whatever reason - the hole pattern is same as SD90 Kluson style
I'm unsure about the shaft, but the holes may be similar.Wait - does that mean I can swap the tuners on my early 2000 McCartys with Phase IIIs, no mods required? Is the hole for the shaft the same size?
