Vangelis used a Yamaha CS80 synth in his scores for movies like Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner.

The CS80 has a very distinctive sound. I'll bet its tonality created the association between this piece and his work - the first instrument in the intro is Arturia's CS-80 V.

My style is different from Vangelis', but like you, I associate the sound of a CS80 with the Vangelis stuff. So your perceptive skills are right there!
