Famous Previous Owner

Just wondering if anyone here has owned a guitar (PRS or otherwise) that was previously owned by a reputable or famous musician? What was it? Do you have pictures of them using it? was there any special case candy?

I have a 1930s Kay Kraft archtop that belonged to Chris Isaak. My husband photographed him years ago and he brought a bunch of guitars to the shoot, but left one behind. His management didn't follow up when he reached out to get it back to him, so we've had it since then. I think he must've bought it used on the way there because it was in unplayable shape and had a handwritten $30 tag on its case. I had it restored last year so it was playable.

This was Howie’s BRW McCarty, and was played on the “Paul Rodgers live in Glasgow” DVD.



It now resides in the Hoosier nation (in “special case candy.”)

I have a Les Paul owned by Les Paul. No photos of him with it, just the notes he put on the case to remind him what it was.

I have a PRS owned by PRS. He played it for quite a while so there are lots of photos of him with it, but I haven’t searched any of them out to save.

Not a guitar, but I recently bought a Nobels odr-s. It had previously been owned by Jon Herington, who is the current lead guitarist of Steely Dan. I didn’t know that until after I bought it.

Not as exciting, but I own a 2x12 cab that belonged to Allen Holdsworth.
Unfortunately, he had to start selling off gear to make ends meet a few years before he passed.
Also got to see & meet him at a very small clinic around the same time. Incredibly humble man.
