To be clear, from the start, this wasn't my idea, but our lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist.
Our band played Thurs., Fri., and Sun. in normal pubs.
However, on Saturday, we played a corporate event, which we do once in a while.

Before the show, we were chatting about how to do something for disaster relief.
So this is what we came up with.
Around 11pm our lead singer stopped Tush in the middle, cause he had an idea.

At that point, we had a big box ready, decorated with inspirational messages and this is what he did.
Talked to the crowd, let's help our American friends and contribute to the disaster relief fund.
Took our pay for the nite (cash), threw it in into the box and said let's rock.
Sounds kinda lame trying to explain it thru text, but it was cool.
He has charisma and really good at this type of thing.

Anyway, at the end of the day, we collected just over ten thousand dollars.
Now, I know that it is Canadian and worth maybe $100 US, but we did the best we could.
:)

Good stuff! Random acts of kindness can change the world. Thanks for sharing.

That is awesome! As a Canadian (now also American) living in Florida (where we got hit the least from the trio of hurricanes, really), I can say we truly appreciate it!
