Anyone know what replacing the nut on, for example, my 24/7 (SE) would do, tonally? I understand it will be harder to file down for proper string gauges, but I don't usually do anything weird in terms of tuning. Or should I just stick with Tusq or Bone?

I'm looking to make some minor changes on several of my 24/7s, but with the biggest return on investment, so pickups and nut? Electronics?

That's a pretty good question. I recall a mutt strat (some of it was Beck strat, and some wasn't) I had back in the 90s that had a roller ball nut. I thought it was pretty cool, but have no recollection of what it did to tone. I do seem to remember enjoying that guitar tone wise. I never bonded with the neck though. It was baseball bat like. Good luck on your quest though. Sounds like you have multiples? If that the case, I'd pick one and own the sh1t outta it.

I used to do Brass on all my Strats way back when brass is very soft and easy to cut it is also very bright sounding in a good way

Alright, I'll try it. I like bright. Thanks for your input.

EDIT: Does anyone know the radii of PRS guitars, specifically the 7-string?
