TIL the birds on the fretboard are different types of birds

Correct.. I didn't read the link, but I'm sure PRS confirmed it better than I did. Lol

We’d have only had “moons”
PRS fretboard mystery solved! His Dad was Assman?

In addition to the birds and moons , he has done bats, fish , dragons .....and then there's the celtic knots ...
I remember the Koi fish inlay gtr.
As an angler I would have bought one that had a series of gamefish like Marlin, Tuna, Dorado, & bass. I'd wear one of those stupid joke fish hats and gigged it hard.

Don't feel bad tdroid, I think we all had that "ah ha" moment at some time. But you're right they DO still seem to be at different stages in flight, in addition to them being different species of birds altogether. I think that's part of why they're so iconic (no pun intended).

My 30th Anniversaty Custom 24 has Birds in Flight inlays and looks to me to be the same bird in different stages of flight. Definitely doesn’t have all the birds the OP linked. I have not seen a list of the 30th birds names though.
