McCarty Treble with a Vintage Bass

Hi,

So I'm playing a ~2004 Custom 24, and having never been happy with the HFS pickup on the bridge, I picked up a used McCarty Treble pickup the other day. I have no experience with guitar electronics, and was surprised to find that the McCarty had two wires to the HFS's three; I was unaware that different pickups required different wiring schemes.

My question is: is it possible to have the Vintage Bass and the McCarty Treble wired together in a five-way rotary configuration? How? Or do I need to get a McCarty/equivalent-two-wire neck pickup to go with the treble? I like the sound of the Vintage Bass, and as such would prefer the former.

Thanks in advance.

McCarty pickups will not work with the 5-way...at all. Actually, the HFS and VB use 4-conductor wiring, and the McCarty uses 3-conductor. When I replaced the pickups in my P22 with McCartys, I had to go from a 5-way blade switch to a 3-way with a push/pull tone pot.
