Alright so my nephew stepped on the USB cable, thusly breaking the USB port in the amp, for my Blackstar ID 30 and recording direct is no longer an option. I need some recommendations for good Guitar/USB cables and also curious if anyone has any insight on good amp modeling software. I know theres amplitube and stuff but I don't want to spend a fortune when something 1/5th the cost covers it. Thanks guys.

Why not get the USB port on your amp fixed?

I called them and explained to them in greater detail than here whats wrong with it and they said it wasn't repairable.

Hmmm.. It will be if someone has the skills. That port will be a generic thing mounted to a PCB. If you can find someone to do it then it may be cheaper than buying and learning to use all this amp modelling stuff, etc
