Akerfeldt with push/pull

My friend and I both have the PRS Akerfeldt.
He bought it after he saw how mine played and sounded wonderfully.

However mine has a Push/Pull pot and his doesn't.
Also mine is a brighter red color and his is a little darker.

The Akerfeldt came/comes in Tortoise Shell (darker brown color) and Black Cherry or something. The Black Cherry is a limited-year color or something - was not offered the first year or two, and also does not seem to be offered currently.

Push-pull is not part of the standard configuration, AFAIK. Did you buy yours new or used? Maybe someone installed a push-pull aftermarket? Are your pickups stock? Or maybe that was one of the tweaks done for the Black Cherry color?

This may seem a little off-topic, but whilst browsing about for info on the Akerfeldt model, I came across a listing for one that said "This is the 2012-2013 model without the "beveled" top featured on the 2014 model."

I was unaware the Akerfeldt was offered in that flat top (like the Mushok Baritone), but managed to find some pics where an earlier model looks to have a flat -top:

(Don't know how long that expired listing and pics will last.)

On the other hand, every review I could find of the guitar, including one on sevenstring.org from 2010 shows the typical-in-my-experience SE "beveled" (rounded) top (mine looks like this):
